The Laser Scanning/HDS sub-track originated as the annual “Leica Geosystems HDS Worldwide User Conference,” held in San Ramon, California, USA, starting in 2005. In 2011 this highly regarded event was merged into the inaugural Hexagon international conference as its Laser Scanning/HDS (High-Definition Surveying) sub-track.
